Thanks to websites like Canva, (free) Ecards have never been easier to make yourself. With the site's wide range of templates and design options, DIY Ecards can look just as high quality as expensive traditional printed cards. Keep reading for our three tips on how to use Canva to make the best DIY ECards for personal and professional use alike!
1) Use Canva's Free Website
Canva.com is a free website that offers accessible graphic design features and templates to its users. The site even has a DIY card maker, making it the ideal platform for creating your own ECards. First, you'll need to sign up for a free account. You can do this with a Google, Facebook, or email account, and it only takes a few minutes. Take a look through Canva's templates and design options to find the perfect design for your card or project. Once you make your selection, Canva will walk you through every step of the design process.
2) Customize a Design Template
Canva's most defining feature is that it offers over a million stock images, graphics, and illustrations to use on a wide variety of templates and project designs. It's important to note, however, that templates and assets accessible on the Free account are limited. Anything with a Crown icon on the bottom means you will need to upgrade to the Premium account. Regardless, there are still plenty of options to choose from on the free version. Once you've started a project, press the Design icon on the left-side menu, then select Templates. These are pre-designed and perfect for "drag and dropping" your specific pictures and/or text into them. From there, select Uploads on the left-side menu to upload your own photos. Once your media is uploaded, drag and drop into the pre-designated areas to customize your card. Canva makes it easy to customize templates and really make your designs your own!
3) Share Your ECard
Canva also gets our vote for best ECard site for how easy it is to share your cards. Just press the Share button at the top right side of the screen. From there, you can download the photo, add it to an email, and/or send it from your personal account. Canva also generates a link that you can send out, allowing recipients to access the card without downloading an attachment. If you plan on sending emails, Canva allows you to do that directly on the site. Click the Mail button under Share and add the recipients' email address(es), and they'll email it for you. Canva has become such a gamechanger when it comes to ECards, and we really can't recommend it enough!
