The Best Settings for Uploading a Video to TikTok?

TikTok is the newest promising frontier in video content marketing. TikTok videos are an entertaining way to engage with your audience. However, to have your videos get the most views, you have to format them optimally for TikTok. You should consider the length, size and quality of your videos before uploading them to TikTok for views. Here are three suggestions for the best settings for uploading a TikTok video.

tiktok video tips

1) Aspect ratio should be 9:16 with the resolution of 1080x1920

TikTok is a fun and more relaxed social media platform which means you have more flexibility with your videos. However, TikTok still has restraints on the size and length of your video. TikTok suggests that your video be uploaded in a 9:16 ratio with a max resolution of 1080x1920. TikTok is formatted to be viewed on a smartphone, so "vertical" 9:16 ratio for your video is best. 1080x1920 resolution allows your video to be of high quality while keeping the video at a reasonable size for upload. Keep in mind that if you are making the video on the TikTok app, TikTok will automatically upload it with the best settings.

2) Video length up to 3 mins

As TikTok became more prominent, they've changed some of their restrictions. TikTok used to only allow 60 seconds of video. Now, TikTok allows you to upload up to 3 minutes. If you are making a video on the mobile app, you can pick whether you want your video to be 15 seconds, 60 seconds, or 3 minutes long. Remember that if you are uploading a long video from your photo gallery, you may need to cut it down into multiple parts. If you are posting multiple parts, be sure you use captions so that your audience knows to look forward to more on the topic.

3) For best quality, before posting select More Options > Upload HD

On the TikTok mobile app you are able to change your video settings so that it satisfies TikTok restrictions while keeping the best quality. We suggest changing the settings on the app before uploading your video. By clicking "More Options", then "Upload HD", your video will be uploaded in the highest quality TikTok allows. You can also use editing software beforehand to ensure that your video is in the correct format before uploading your video to TikTok.
