We are huge proponents of using video to help grow your business. But we know that even if we endlessly lobbied for everyone to do so, it wouldn't do anything if people weren't sure what to make. Ultimately, they're your videos, and the sky's the limit. If you're feeling overwhelmed, that's okay! There are many studios (like ours!) that offer specific packaging to keep your brand stocked with plenty of video content. But where to begin? Here are the first 3 videos you should make to jumpstart your brand's digital presence.
1) 3 to 5 Minute Brand Video
We've recently taken a look at both brand profile videos and video business cards, which can be invaluable tools for your business. This type of digital marketing only needs to be updated every two years or so, so it's a great first video to create. With brand videos, you're able to provide a detailed, more accessible overview of your company than you would written out, or even in person. Being able to include clips of your services or products helps paint a clear picture of what your business is all about. Brand videos also allow you to start building instant rapport with viewers. Using video really jumpstarts a connection with your potential client, as you can reach them in a much more memorable way.
2) 30 to 60 Second Social Media Video
Short form videos (60 seconds or less) are a great way to stay on top of trends and establish a presence to your target audience. 30-60 seconds is the perfect length for Instagram Reels, TikTok videos, and LinkedIn posts. You'll want to post at least once a day on both Instagram and TikTok--ideally two posts but no more than three. On the other hand, LinkedIn requires fewer posts. Because it's a significantly different platform from the others, you only need to post twice a week, and no more than once every business day. While EVERY post on social media doesn't have to be a video, we suggest 1-2 video posts every week. Pro tip: Record a month's worth of social media videos in one session so you don't have to worry about it on a daily basis. Instead of focusing on sales, make each video concise and engaging, highlighting a topic that is closely related to your brand. Offer tips, show behind the scenes footage, or answer FAQs. And remember, make sure your personality shines through!
3) 10 to 15 Minute YouTube Video
Long form videos (longer than one minute) are perfect for YouTube. Their algorithm tends to favor videos between 7-15 minutes long. At this length, videos can be more in-depth and cover a greater range of topics than their short-form counterparts. Collaborate with another brand to do cross promotions, create how-to videos for your products/something related to your services, or interview company team members about their roles and introduce them to your target audience. Check out another one of our blog posts here for a longer list of YouTube video ideas. These videos are perfect for weekly vlog posts, so we suggest posting 4-5 times per month. As we mentioned above, film one month's worth of videos in a day. Trust us--it's an absolute game changer.
